Belle’s Bandits is a western themed online slot game by software developer Genesis Gaming. Only you won’t be seeing any of the usual suspects here. Instead, all of the characters in this title are female, so it’s Belle and her crew of cowgirl bandits. It’s a cowboy slot game alright, with only the faintest touch of femininity. And it can prove to be a fairly rewarding one, too. The graphics here are of pretty high quality, even though the developers haven’t given much to look at. The backdrop of the slot is a mist of sand and dust, so that you can’t really see through it. And only at the edges of screen you can make out the outlines of someone standing beside the reels. There’s a very decent soundtrack, though – we have to give them that. It’s both laid back and enticing at the same time and adds much to the overall vibe of the game.
First off, let’s point out that the layout in Belle’s Bandits is slightly different from the majority of online slot games out there. It features 5 reels with 4 rows, which is one more than the industry standard. In addition, there are 1024 ways to win, and these are quite obviously fixed. So there won’t be any adjusting of the paylines going on here. The available betting amounts are slightly higher than average, but fully acceptable in this case. You can start betting with a minimum of 40c per single spin. And the largest amount that anyone can stake on these reels is $20 per spin. Now we can have a closer look at the game’s symbols. And before we do, we just can’t help but notice the simplistic approach of the developers.First in line are the lower value playing card icons. They’re very basic, and the design doesn’t appear to have any affiliation with the theme. The symbols in question are A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9. Traditionally, each comes in a different bright color. Next up are the four higher value icons. These would be Belle and her three bandits. Each of the character symbols has its own value, the lowest paying of which being the girl with the braided hair. Then there’s the bandit with the red scarf, the blonde outlaw and finally – the woman with the curly hair offers the highest payouts on these reels. There is, however, one male character in this slot game – the Sheriff. He also acts as the game’s Wild symbol and can appear only on the middle reels 2, 3 and 4. As such, the Wild can also replace any of the other symbols on these reels and help create winning combos. However, he doesn’t offer any payouts of his own and cannot substitute for the Scatter symbol.
The Scatter symbol in Belle’s Bandits comes in the form of the sheriff’s badge. And unlike the Sheriff, it can appear in any position, anywhere on the five reels during gameplay. More importantly, however, it is also responsible for trigger this online slot game’s single special feature – the freespins bonus round. But before we get into that, let’s also point out that the Scatter is the most lucrative symbol on these reels, too. Its payouts are dramatically higher than even the highest of the regular symbols. In fact, with its help you can pocket up to 800 coins. And the best part is that you don’t even have to land the Scatters on an active payline in order to scoop up the cash – or trigger the feature. So, now about the more interesting part. To trigger the freespins round, you will be looking to land at least 3 Scatters all at once during a spin. The number of Scatters you land determines the number of freespins you will receive. So, 3 Scatters will award you a total of 8 freespins, whereas 4 Scatter symbols will grant you 15 freespins. Finally, landing the maximum of 5 Scatters will give you a total of 20 freespins. As the freespins progress, you will notice that all Wilds that appear on the reels will come to life, revealing a multiplier of 2x. If you land multiple Wilds during a spin, their multiplier values will multiply together. Thus, for example, 3 Wilds will give you a multiplier of 8x.
Note also that you can retrigger this feature with as few as only 2 Scatters. They will award you a minimum of 5 extra freespins. Landing more Scatters at a time will award you the same amount of freespins as during the base game.
