The trend of migrating live poker series to the Internet continues. Another brand, the Asian Poker Tour (APT), announced its partnership with GGPoker Network and will hold its first online stop from April 29 to May 10, 2020.
For the first time ever on Natural8, the online series of the Asian Poker Tour 2020 is coming. With 62 events over 12 days of poker action and over $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes up for grabs, winners of this online poker tournament series will be awarded trophies including the distinguished APT Player of the Series. Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan 2020 is a poker tournament in Taipei, Taiwan.The APT’s inaugural visit to Taiwan in February remains as the tour’s richest festival of 2019 with over USD 2.1 million in prizes paid out. To date, the Main Event holds the country record prize pool of TWD 15,219,300, approximately USD 494,000.
Asian Poker Tour (APT) will be played on the GGPoker Network
Currently, there is a pretty impressive list of live poker brands hosting their festivals in online poker rooms this spring. The most remarkable is, of course, the $100M GTD WSOP Circuit Series, to be played on GGNetwork next month. GGPoker didn't stop there, and they booked another series that will start this week: the Asian poker Tour.
This year, APT managed to hold only two stops: Vietnam and Taiwan. The last one didn't have the traditional guaranteed prizes in the main events. More stops were scheduled in the Philippines and Japan.
Therefore, APT organizers began looking for an online platform to compensate for the absence of live events, and GGNetwork was the answer. Asian Poker Tour CEO, Lloyd Fontillas, stated the following:

Natural8, as a member of the GGPoker Network, closed the deal with the APT, but all skins will have access to it.
Main Features of Asian Poker Tour Online
A total of $1,540,000 is guaranteed across 57 events from April 29 to May 10. The series will have two main events:
- Mini Main Event, 8 starting flights, $75,000 GTD, buy-in $200;
- Main Event, 5 starting flights, $200,000 GTD, buy-in $500.
The series includes events for all players with buy-ins from $50 to a super high roller tournament with a $5,000 that features a $100k guaranteed prize pool. The APT includes also Hold'em, Omaha, Short Deck, and progressive bounty events.

APT Player of the Year Leaderboard
A special leaderboard will also run throughout the series, with only three prizes:
- $800, commemorative prize, ring, and watch;
- $100 and a commemorative trophy;
- $100 and a commemorative award.
The points for the leaderboard will be calculated using the following formula: f * sqrt (Tournament Prizes / Final Place), where 'f' is a coefficient that considers the results of the tournament (x2 for 1st place, 1,5x for the final table, 1x for ITM).
